It all started with a group lunch and ended with a ‘political’ discussion on conflicts and conflict resolution strategies in today’s world.
In between, participants spent an afternoon preparing for a simulation game modelled on UN conferences. There was also a visit to the South Tyrolean Provincial Council, which our guests found particularly fascinating, and a lecture at EURAC exploring when and how conflict resolution strategies succeed and peace agreements can be achieved.
The week was filled with shared experiences: travelling together by bus and train, visiting Runkelstein Castle, hiking along the Peace Trail between Kaltern and Altenburg, and taking part in a guided tour of Bolzano, organized and led by the Bolzano students. The group also visited the MUSE in Trento where they explored the exhibition “Blue Planet – Climate Crisis and Climate Conflicts”.
A heartful thank you goes to everyone involved for their outstanding commitment, active participation, hands-on experience of a state parliament session, contribution to the simulation exercise, and their role in re-enacting a UN peace meeting.
It was a pleasure to see how the groups from Munich, Zlaté Moravce, Kraków and Bolzano grew closer over the course of the five days and formed new friendships.
